SEATTLE EASTSIDE LEAN COFFEE

Thanks everyone for coming! It was suggested that I get a few announcements out, to make sure the meeting ends up on people’s calendars. Of course, you could just block out Tuesday mornings now!

So we did some basic topics this time around. A smaller group, but some great discussion!

We touched on:

• The Product Owner – Brent Barton from Rally did a great presentation at the last SeaSPIN and we tried to summarize and mention some of the fine points
• The Cynefin Framework – There is no end to the thinking here… but we did what we could with the time available
• What is Agile? Maybe someone should qwrite this down…

Another great conversation… especially on the conversation with Execs that Steve Smith submitted. Plenty of material coming in from Kaizen Camp also.

Finally… Big Thanks to Jeff Pasek for managing the meeting while so many were at Kaizen Camp!

Lots of newcomers this week! And some great discussion. Topics and Attendees below!

With Kaizen Camp coming up, we needed to decide on a 7-30 Lean Coffee. A number of people at the table were attending the unconference, but there were those who are not in that sold-out event. I handed off the post-its and markers to Jeff Pasek… who said he would lead the Lean Coffee meeting. If his circumstances change, it’s always good to have a backup… but my impression was we would have enough for the Tuesday meeting. So the 7-30 Eastside Coffee is a Go!

We did manage to come up with some potential topics for Kaizen Camp… Thanks to Sylvia for kicking off this one. Some possible topics:

• Liberating Structures
• Self-organizing Teams
• What is High Performance?
• Systems Thinking
• Collaboration ain’t Agile!?

So I promised to drink a little extra coffee for William and Steve Schroeder – Done.

Oh – Before Heading Away – Joe Showed us his new used Car!

Really liking this location. Awesome coffee and sandwiches. Plenty of room and very peaceful.

Tell me – How do you like the Mindmap? I hope I did not miss anything big…. This was created with FreeMind, but I will probably look at other tools. I may try to do some other visuals.
